TownePlace Suites by Marriott Dallas Las Colinas

I spent a week here, and the room wasn’t clean to begin with. The sheets looked clean but smelled like puke, and the hallways smelled like fish. Construction started upstairs on the second floor at 7am. Room service didn’t come until the last day, and they still didn’t make the bed. I had to ask the front desk for towels. Our keys deactivated every single day, and they double-booked our room, so someone actually walked in with a key. A friend staying at the same hotel was also given a key to an occupied room at check-in.

We had a nice two-night getaway here, and the breakfast was included with our stay. There were some good breakfast options, the room was clean, and the front desk staff were nice. The hotel is near Toyota music factory. We had a good experience and will definitely come back.

I’m a platinum elite rewards member and have spent thousands with Marriott this year, so the front desk wheel game annoyed me more than it probably should have. I’ve seen and played the same kind of game at other locations during check-in, just for a few points or a small treat. Here, you can only play if you aren’t a member and sign up. New people get a chance, while an existing guest who’s spent a lot with the brand can’t spin for a candy bar. The building needs work. There’s no ice maker in the building I was in, and when I asked for ice, the front desk employee came back from the rear with some in a trash bag. Very disappointing for a Marriott.

The general manager checked us in and was out greeting guests again in the morning. The service was great, the rooms were very clean, and breakfast was great, too. An amazing stay.
