The restaurant downstairs had fine food, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby looks lovely and modern, but my room felt dated and hadn't been cleaned very well. There was hair in the bathroom and more than a little dust on the coffee maker. They had soap, but no shampoo or conditioner. When I asked at the desk, they said they were out. What hotel runs out of shampoo?

The main thing that disturbed our sleep was the room beside a side or service elevator. The heating and cooling unit's fan was so quiet it couldn't cover the noise, and it woke us up. Light sleepers might want a room away from an elevator. The food was fresh and tasty. We had dinner in the lounge and breakfast delivered to the room, and the shower got plenty hot. The updated lobby and lounge looked modern, and our king bed was big and comfortable. The room was a little out of style, but still nice and in good shape. It had a large HDTV, though no fridge or microwave, which we didn't need. The staff we met were neutral, neither especially cheerful nor rude. They seemed short-handed in the lounge, but we had no problems with anyone and the food was good. I didn't mean my staff comment negatively. We were fine with the service. We stayed over the weekend and were generally satisfied. If we stay in Jackson again, we'd likely come back.

The bed was comfortable and the room clean, and the staff were the best part, friendly and helpful. Parking is available too. The decor is quite dated, with wallpaper, floral carpet, and old-fashioned lamps. If grandma's style is your thing, you'll feel right at home.

The food was hot and fresh, and both the Cali chicken sandwich I had and my friend's chicken flatbed were pretty good. We stopped at the bar for a quick lunch. It's a tucked-away spot with a nice, modern, upscale feel and a decent range on the slightly upscale menu. The service was the letdown, especially for that atmosphere. Better service would make this a great place to get food and drinks.
