Red Roof Inn Jackson, OH

The room was clean and nice, though a little small, and the price was surprisingly reasonable. The front desk agents were friendly. It's a bit out on the outskirts, but that didn't matter for our one-night stay. There's a convenience store right next door, too.

We were happy with our stay this past week, and came back two days later when we were in the area again. The rooms were decent for the price and fairly updated, and the staff were friendly. The beds felt a bit stiff, as other reviews mention, though that's common in hotels for someone like me who travels for work. Truck parking is conveniently right off the highway. There aren't many hotel options nearby, and this place was much nicer than the Quality Inn in Gallipolis, as well as 99% of the Quality Inns I've stayed at over the years. I haven't tried the Quality Inn in Jackson. I'll stay here again if I need a room in the area.

The staff had that friendly, hometown feel, and there's clearly an effort from ownership to keep the rooms clean and pleasant. They're nice rooms with good amenities for a no-frills hotel. I've worked in hotels for years, so I can be both critical and understanding of the experience. Now that I know how easy it is to get to 32 and 35, I'll be back.

We left because we didn’t feel safe. A group outside kept trying to force their way through the exterior door, and when I told the front desk, the clerk said she hadn’t seen anyone and didn’t check the cameras. The guests causing the problem were never removed. There was no accountability or security, and management didn’t seem to care. I wouldn’t stay here again.
