Hampton Inn & Suites Jacksonville - Beach Blvd/Mayo Clinic

For our Mayo Clinic visit, this hotel worked perfectly. The staff were kind and professional, and they handled our service dog well. They seemed familiar with ADA questions and service dog regulations. The rooms are standard and clean; some people might want an update, but for a short stay it was just right.

The room itself had several problems: the TV and refrigerator were both out, and the floor by the door was very sticky and felt dirty. I depend on a fridge for breast milk, so losing access put 34 oz at risk, representing hours of pumping and more than a day's food. The hotel also had no cribs, unless the information I was given was wrong. When we asked for luggage carts, none were at the desk. Ami said she saw someone bringing one down in the elevator, but nobody came; on our floor, two carts were sitting unused by the elevators. The elevator shook and made loud noises, and since our room was right beside it, it kept us awake all night. I was also alarmed by the area around the hotel. Two intoxicated men sat in a truck in the parking lot, asked my sister and me if we had beer or drugs as we walked to our car, then kept harassing us until we practically ran away. I saw no hotel staff dealing with it. At the desk, Ami was dismissive and unhelpful, and gave inaccurate information, making an already frustrating situation worse. Later, a third-shift employee yelled at a guest for ringing the doorbell more than once, though no staff member had been there when that guest first arrived. Service, cleanliness, safety, and maintenance were all far below an acceptable level. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially for families with kids. I’d only consider it without children and with very low expectations for comfort and guest support.

Staying here for care at Mayo Clinic felt like having a home away from home. If you need a hotel that treats you like family, Hampton Inn and Suites is that place. Dee, Tammy, Charity, Isabelle, Terri,Harry, David, and the whole team go above and beyond to make sure guests have what they need. They provide transportation to and from Mayo, hot breakfast, clean rooms, a lovely well-kept pool, gym, and office, plus wake-up calls and a kind goodnight.

The staff at the front were mostly friendly, and the woman who checked me in thoughtfully gave me two bottles of water. The linens and towels were fresh, and the room was as clean as it could be, but everything is badly worn and the hotel needs a full renovation. The beds were hard, the AC wouldn’t go lower so our room stayed warm, the mini fridge didn’t work, and the elevator felt sketchy. The pool was closed for some reason, and there were other unattractive details. The bathroom was mostly clean, except for stray pubic hairs on the toilet rim, shower, and floor. There wasn’t a fresh roll of toilet paper, and the location brought plenty of outside noise. It’s not too far from Mayo Clinic, but the one-night stay on 9/18/25 wasn’t worth the price. I won’t return.
