Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jacksonville Camp Lejeune Area by IHG

The only thing I would've liked was more wall outlets in convenient spots, something I wish most hotels would add. Otherwise, we had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Jacksonville. The room was modern, very clean, and well cared for, with clean, comfortable beds. The front desk clerk was warm and welcoming. Free refrigerated water and a hot drink bar open 24 hours with coffee and hot chocolate were thoughtful extras. The indoor pool was inviting and clean, and the fitness room was in good shape with plenty of equipment.

Ms. Destine (sp.) made my stay the best part of the visit. She was very friendly, took charge when something needed sorting out, and was willing to help both a customer and a colleague. Her demeanor and customer service were far beyond what I expected, and she built a great rapport. The hotel itself was very comfortable, really nice, but she made it especially good. I hope to stay here again. Thank you very much.

I've stayed here before and will come back when I'm in Jacksonville again. The staff are friendly, and the complimentary breakfast is very good, with different hot choices each day.

There was a huge cockroach crawling up the wall behind the front desk while we were checking in. The place felt disorganized, and the staff didn't seem properly trained. Our room keys kept failing, so we had to walk back and forth after being told each time that the key was fine. Only one elevator was working, and we usually had to take the stairs unless we wanted to wait 10 minutes just to go up one floor. Nobody communicated clearly about payment rules. We used two forms of payment and were later told that wasn't allowed. I had several incorrect charges on my bank account and had to call to get money returned. My card was charged, the money was put back without me knowing, and then I had to call and pay again. Staff kept blaming a new system they hadn't been trained on yet. Manager Wendy was rude and didn't try to understand. I felt we were discriminated against and misled. Don't stay unless you want to deal with roaches and multiple incorrect card charges.
