We booked two days but checked out within four hours. The room floor had a thick, sticky layer of slime that made our shoes stick. Outside, dozens of discarded mattresses had suspicious red and brown stains. The pool looked like it hadn’t been filled in nine years, and the hot tub was like a still swamp or pond. There was also a separate $100 check-in deposit. They refused a full refund and only returned half. UPDATE 3-10-26: They later charged me another $100 security deposit. My bank said to contact the hotel first, but when I called, they said they hadn’t charged me. Don’t walk away, run. Huge mistake.

The room smelled strongly of smoke and weed, despite this being a supposedly smoke-free hotel. We asked the front desk about moving upstairs, but we’re handicapped and changing rooms would have been too much trouble. They offered to spray the room, but I’m highly allergic to fragrances and chemicals, so we had to turn that down. It took an hour for them to bring one towel and one pillow. I wanted to be sure we wouldn’t be charged for the sink problem, towel, or pillow. The room needs repairs. Water leaked from around the bottom of the bathroom faucet, running beneath the sink and across the vanity. The electrical outlets seemed like a fire hazard. The cleaner had left just one bath towel, two face cloths, two hand towels, and no bathmat. One bed had three pillows, the other two. You couldn’t hear the highway from room 107, but people sat in their cars playing loud bass music. There’s also a $1 nonrefundable key card fee and a $100 incidental hold that aren’t listed on the Choice website. They say the hold takes 7-10 days to release, even though the room is cleaned daily. Not happy. We stayed Black Friday night 2025.

I left two days before checkout because I couldn’t stay there anymore. My reservation wasn’t refundable. The so-called continental breakfast was just yogurt and waffle batter that looked questionable, with no muffins, butter, cream cheese, bagels, or other bread. The pool looked just like the photo I took. The first bedroom smelled of cigarettes even though guests have to sign a no-smoking agreement, and there were cigarette bits in the hall. I switched rooms, but the sheets had hair and skin flakes from the previous guest. They clearly hadn’t been changed. The floors were disgusting too. I complained at the front desk, where they said they knew about the floor problem and blamed the floors rather than the cleaning. Filthy place. Never again.

The staff kept checking in during the week to ask if I needed linens, trash bags, towels, or anything else, and everyone was friendly. Whenever I came down to renew my stay for another day, the front desk was helpful and upbeat. Check-in at the start was easy, too. Breakfast is simple, about what people might have in the morning anywhere. The lobby drink and snack machines had things we actually wanted, at modest prices, which was nice. I’ve had a very nice trip here.

For $123, I stayed two days and got a fairly clean room with two old full-size beds, an old cable TV and fridge that worked, plus a new bathtub and toilet. Thank God, no roaches or bed bugs. The staff were friendly, and my car felt safe in the front lot. The room had new window glass and a sturdy new deadbolt. I’d call it 2.5 stars. I went on a quiet Wednesday, so the hotel wasn’t packed. It’s old and had a slight musty smell when I entered, but I had Lysol to deal with the room odor. It feels like a vintage throwback that’s under repair, with some construction going on. The pool and hot tub were out of service, and the breakfast was bad, especially the coffee. The shopping area nearby was good, and it was pretty quiet at night. I may have gotten lucky. I can imagine a worse stay on a busy weekend with some sketchy people around. Bring your own pillows and sheets just in case.
