We could relax on the deck by the bonfire or walk along the rocky beach, with views all around. This villa sits a little away from the cruise ships and tourists, but town and everything we needed were just a quick walk or bike ride away. The room, scenery, hosts, and hospitality were all incredible. Adrienne & Randy were caring and went out of their way to make our trip special. They gave us recommendations, spent time chatting by the fire, and made us feel at home with family. We loved it so much that if we return to Juneau, we’d stay here again and text them to catch up or grab a drink. 10/10, would recommend. Thanks, Adrienne & Randy, for welcoming us into your home.

The balcony gave us a spectacular view across the river to the snow capped mountains above Juneau, and we even got to see the Northern Lights in all their breathtaking splendor. After days out in the Alaskan outdoors, our Penthouse Honeymoon suite was a wonderful place to recharge. It was quiet and exceptionally comfortable, with thoughtful details, a fabulous shower, and a jacuzzi bathtub. Adrianne and Randy were warm, helpful, and quick to answer our questions, making sure our stay went well. Beachside Villa is absolutely where I’d stay on a visit to Juneau. We’ll certainly come back.

We picked Beachside villa after searching for a honeymoon room, and knew as soon as we walked in that we’d chosen well. The penthouse was worth every penny, with lovely views from the spa tub and through the French door at the foot of the bed. There’s also a shower window and his and hers shower heads. They even provide a toothbrush, plus water and snacks in the fridge, coffee, and tea. We hardly explored town before realizing we had the best room and view. For a romantic getaway, this place is perfect.

We spent five nights in one of the villa king rooms, the smallest room type. It was cute, clean, private, and quiet, and the innkeeper had clearly put thought into how it was designed and stocked. There were games like Scrabble, dominoes, and cards, plenty of hangers, a fan we needed at night during the warmest week of the year in Juneau, plus a small cooler, bug spray, and umbrellas. The bathroom had plenty of toiletries and towels, including spares in the drawers. The towels were soft and fluffy. The little table and chairs worked well for meals and Scrabble on rainy evenings. In the kitchenette nook we had a Keurig with K-cups, tea, sugar and sweetener, basic dishwashing supplies, snacks like granola bars, oatmeal packets, trail mix, and microwave popcorn, with more snacks in the cabinet. There was also a microwave, toaster, sandwich bags, cups, dishes, cutlery, and a wine opener. The mini fridge and freezer held water, seltzer, a ready to eat cheese and salami tray, blueberries, and yogurt. As the inn website says, the stairs to the rooms and down to the lawn are fairly steep. We managed them fine, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who can’t use stairs. On fair evenings after a day out, we enjoyed wine on the lawn while watching seaplanes and eagles, and even spotted harbor seals. It’s likely one of the nicest places to stay in Juneau, and I’d happily return.

The view was beautiful, and we liked looking at it while we were there. That was the main positive. I’d expected a luxury inn, something like a bed and breakfast or other inns I’d stayed in, based on the Google reviews and the Beachside Villa luxury inn advertising. Instead, it ran like any other Airbnb: entry by code, no room cleaning, and we barely saw anyone. I contacted the owners because the mini fridge with a freezer they said they would install wasn’t there, but nobody replied. The room felt dated, run down, and not fully cleaned, with dust everywhere, a moldy shower curtain, dirty microwave and fridge, and stains on the carpet. The shower base was cracked and patched with tape, and the jacuzzi tub didn’t look clean. It needed some care and a professional clean. There was no breakfast, just a few snacks for the week. Several outlets didn’t work, the Roku didn’t work, and the wifi kept cutting out. We found that other Airbnbs nearby could have given us a whole house for the same price. If I’d known this place was basically an Airbnb, I’d have chosen one of those instead. Also, if someone was in the next room, or perhaps the owners who live there, it got incredibly loud. We heard banging and a woman singing, which made it hard to relax.
