We found bed bugs and roaches, and when we asked for our money back, the man in the office laughed at us. We had to leave in the middle of the night and got no refund. This place is disgusting and needs to be shut down immediately.

The front desk staff were polite and friendly, and their kindness salvaged a lot of an otherwise mediocre stay. I was just passing through for one night, and the location near Kansas City made this an affordable, convenient place to stop. If you need somewhere inexpensive to crash, it’ll do. We had a basement room. There was a strong tobacco smell as we walked through the hotel, though thankfully it faded once we opened our door. The room air was warm, humid, and stale. The sheets felt a little wet, or maybe the humidity was so bad because they were wet. Either way, sleeping under them felt unpleasant, so I slept on top of the unmade bed. The room was clean and orderly, with no stains that I noticed. The ACU cooled it quickly once we turned it on, and it goes down to 55 degrees Fahrenheit, which I appreciated. The humidity stuck around, though. I can’t say it was an entirely pleasant stay, but it served its purpose.

My mother appreciated that the front desk person was kind and helped carry her bags to the room, since there was no elevator. He seemed nice when I told him about the mold, too, though I doubt he can do much if the owner won’t address it. The curtains looked water-damaged, and you could see it from outside the building. I booked this for my mother because her flight arrived so late. After she FaceTimed me from the room, I woke up and drove three hours to get her as early as I could the next morning. There was mold under the bathroom light and in the shower, rust on the towel rack and sprinkler heads, a phone with buttons missing, and an outlet pulling out of the wall. The room ceiling was cracked, while the hallway had missing ceiling tiles and dirty vents. The sprinkler head rust is a violation. I wish I’d read the reviews first. I’ll never book a room here again.

My late flight into KC was why I booked a room through Priceline instead of driving. When I arrived at 11 pm, the night clerk said the manager had overbooked and there was nowhere for me to stay. I called the next morning to discuss it, but the person told me not to use a third party to book rooms and then hung up. I still haven’t received a refund.
