We stayed on the third floor, and I was glad the handrails felt sturdy. The patio garden, fountain, and fireplace were lovely and well kept, and all the seating areas were clean too. Check-in and checkout were contactless, as we'd requested, and the room was freshly cleaned when we arrived. It had a small coffee bar, fresh towels, and shower robes. They also put out a little grab-and-go breakfast bar and a chalkboard with places they like for meals and entertainment. We didn't see anyone else, but still felt well looked after. Ten out of ten, I recommend it.

The Southmoreland Veranda was a beautiful historic space for my baby shower, just right for about 40 guests and a great value. We had both the sunroom and patio. Some family members visiting from out of town rented rooms for the night. They appreciated how clean the rooms were, the easy self-entry, and the coffee bar and breakfast in the morning.

I live in KC and used to come to the Southmoreland a couple of times a year for staycations. It still feels clean and comfortable, and it's in a beautiful area, so if you just need somewhere to sleep, it's still nice. But since it was bought out and “corporatized,” it's started to feel cheap and corporate. They seem to offer the least service and convenience they can while trying to maximize profits. The old cozy B&B feeling, with the honor snack and drink bar and home-cooked breakfast, is gone. They don't serve breakfast now, and the hospitality feels almost nonexistent. It's a shame. I miss the old Southmoreland.

We were well looked after, and the meeting space worked perfectly for the retreat I hosted. The rooms were comfortable too. It's a beautiful, private place with plenty of nature, and you can walk to the Plaza for great meals. I can't wait to hold another event here!

The shared spaces felt welcoming, and the beds were comfortable. My husband and I had such a lovely stay at this charming BNB. You can tell a lot of thought went into the place, and we hope to come back soon.
