Tony really stood out for how dependable he was and how much effort he put into making things go smoothly. The staff were courteous and happy to help, and my room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The whole place felt welcoming and well cared for. I had a pleasant, easy stay and would gladly come back. Highly recommend!

The hotel was a handy base for Pride and exploring whether I might relocate back to Kansas City. It sits between the arts district, Westport nightlife, and places like Union Station, Crown Center, and the Country Club Plaza, which made it easy to get around. I’d recommend it to LGBTQ travelers looking for a central, welcoming spot. Staff were warm from check-in through checkout. The front desk was flexible and helpful, and on my last day they let me leave my bags temporarily after checkout so I could enjoy more of the city. Breakfast was a nice start each morning, with hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy on most days, plus cereal, milk, toast, yogurts, honey buns, and plenty of juice. I appreciated the variety and consistency. If Quality Inn keeps up this level of care, I’d happily stay again. Thanks for making my visit comfortable.

We were supposed to stay two nights, but left early the morning after the first. The hotel hasn’t handled the aftermath well either. Since I booked through Expedia, they say Expedia has to process the refund, but the hotel keeps telling them the person authorized to issue it is unavailable. It’s been at least 4 days, and I still haven’t gotten back the $100 arrival deposit. The room had a cigarette burn in the bedding and a strong smoke smell throughout the building, even though it’s supposed to be non-smoking. The shower drain had been removed and was sitting in the dirty tub. Parking costs $20/night, and the small main lot filled up, so I had to use the hidden, unlit overflow lot. A man with his hand inside his jacket started coming toward my car, so I drove away. I circled around several times before I felt safe parking and going back in. I only wanted an inexpensive place to get ready and sleep, but this was a bad experience. Don’t stay here if you have another choice.

We booked at the last minute, just needing a place to sleep with a couple friends, and I wasn’t expecting much. At check-in they asked for an extra fee and said it would be refunded at checkout, so I paid. But when we got to the room they’d given us, a man was entering it with his dog inside. We went back to reception, where nobody apologized or explained what had happened. By then we were annoyed, and the replacement room smelled bad and had stained walls. I’ve hardly ever written reviews, let alone a negative one, but this was far beyond what I was prepared for. I didn’t expect to be impressed, but I also didn’t expect to leave disappointed and frustrated.

The room was a good size and clean, and it smelled nice. The front desk staff were polite, and we had no other issues, but we were cold the whole time. We stayed over Valentine’s Day weekend, and the room was chilly while the bathroom was freezing. Parking is $20 a day, so keep that in mind. The fitness center is tiny: one treadmill that didn’t work, a bike, a bench, and dumbbells from 5-50lbs. It’s okay if nobody else is there, but don’t expect much.
