Comfort Inn Kendallville East

Everyone we met, from check-in through departure, was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. Rose was especially helpful and kind. Comfort Inn is a lovely place to stay, and we'll definitely be back.

We booked one night online and called to ask if early check-in would cost extra. They said it would, and we were fine with paying. The desk clerk later said she hadn't charged us for arriving early, which I appreciated. Then we woke up to three separate $100 charges. It turned out we'd been charged for two nights instead of one because of the early check-in. Our first room was covered in ants, hundreds of them on the floor, bed, everywhere. Housekeeping also barges in and yells "housekeeping" even when there's a do not disturb sign on the door. Worst experience ever. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Room 118 has a constant rattling from something on the other side of the wall, apparently related to the pool. It went on all day and night, and I could feel it in the bed. It's astonishing they assign that room without warning guests. Fix the noise, Comfort Inn. Otherwise, it's a decent-looking place and smells good. My other gripe was staff smoking right by the front door. Next time I'll try the Best Western, which is at least closer to town.

We were here for a wedding at Sylvan Cellars. After our red-eye from the West Coast, Jason let us check in three hours early so we could get some much-needed sleep. The staff were kind and accommodating, breakfast was tasty and filling, and the clean, comfortable room and bed gave us a great night's rest.
