Yachtsman Hotel & Marina Club

Check the “cancelation policy” page before booking. I booked the “April Fool's Day Sale” without realizing what that meant, then needed to cancel because my schedule changed. They wouldn’t refund the booking or let me move the date. Hidden policies make for poor customer service and don’t look good.

The rooms were nicely done, the view was great, and downtown was an easy short walk away. We had a mostly good stay at The Yachtsman, though a few things could be managed better. Service was slow and difficult to deal with, the pool was on the small side, and guests were letting their dogs run around with little oversight from staff.

Tammy at the Marrietta property went above and beyond for us. We’d rented a car and lost the second set of keys they provide, so we thought we’d be out $500 when returning it. I called the hotel, and luckily they’d found the keys. Tammy mailed them back to us right away. My husband and I were impressed with the Yachtsman’s customer service. I’ve worked in hospitality for over 40 years, so I’m always alert to good service when we travel, and I give credit where it’s due. Tammy was warm and made us feel at home. Corporate should appreciate her exemplary work and recognize how valuable she is. She deserves a promotion. Not many staff seem to care these days. The hotel is lucky to have her, and we’ll stay there again between travels if she’s still there. Thank you, Tammy!

The outdoor sitting area was perfect for relaxing, and the room was super nice. We could walk to everything we wanted to see and do. We also enjoyed the bikes and kayaks. If you need front desk help around the clock, this might not be the place for you, though that didn’t bother us. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back.
