Travelers Palm

Our studio was perfect, spotless, and private, with soft sheets and a very comfortable bed. The innkeepers were friendly and quick to respond. There’s a beautiful pool, an ice machine, filtered water, and bikes on site. Bring a refillable bottle for the water. We parked right out front without any trouble, and the location meant we could walk everywhere without renting a car. We’ll definitely be back.

We were glad to find El Siboney within the block. It’s the Cuban restaurant our friends highly recommended, and we stopped by several times during our visit. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and exceptionally clean, and the pool was lovely. From what I hear, we were very lucky to find nearby parking. But pack earplugs and an eye mask if you stay here: the shades barely block the light, and the walls are paper thin. We were in the Royal Palm Studio, next to the Royal Palm Suite. The couple in the suite were pretty rambunctious for the first couple of nights, which is absolutely fine, but we could hear everything, and I mean everything. I assume they could hear our early starts too, as we headed out for several excursions, including Dry Tortugas and parasailing, and for our flight.

The studio looked just like the photos: clean, roomy, and nicely set up, with a stocked kitchenette and a deck with chairs. It has a tropical feel, a clean pool area, and small private bungalow-style units tucked into a neighborhood. There’s no resort fee. You can book either a studio or a suite. Suites have parking on the property; street parking is available just a few feet away. I highly recommend it and would gladly stay again.

The room was adorable, and the grounds felt beautiful and private. Athena greeted us when we arrived and was friendly and helpful. We were there for a long weekend celebrating my birthday, and my husband and I were very pleased with our stay. The walls are VERY thin, though, and when the adjoining room is occupied you can hear EVERYTHING. We left the radio on in our room, which helped us feel a little more comfortable. Even with that issue, I wouldn’t hesitate to give this beautiful inn five stars. It’s in a perfect spot, away from Duval and the noisy bars. We rented bikes as the inn recommended, and there was a handy bike rack in the common area. We’re already planning to return.
