Americas Best Value Inn & Suites

The woman at the desk was awesome, welcoming, friendly, and quick to get us a room. It was big and spacious too. But there was a lot that needed attention. The weekday breakfast was extremely minimal. Outside, the room walls had cracks and missing paint, and the parking area was in poor shape. Inside, the room was a good size but needed much better cleaning and maintenance. The water was shut off for a while, and the curtain covered only part of the window. There were also wild cats with mange running around, always trying to get into the room.

Breakfast was hit or miss. Some mornings it was decent, and other days it felt like there wasn't much there. The room itself was roomy, with a bed that was so comfortable I barely noticed someone else beside me when I lay down. There was also a cozy chair with an ottoman and a desk with a real office chair, so working in the room was comfortable. The bathroom was around the corner past the sink and closet rather than joined directly to the main room. It seemed like a long walk at first, but having it separate kept shower heat and other smells out of the bedroom, which made the room feel fresher.

The room was a good size for the price and looked clean enough, and the air conditioning worked very well. The layout was a little strange, with the sink across the suite from the toilet, and neither of the two bedroom lights worked. There was no Do Not Disturb sign, and housekeeping opened my door at 3 p.m. while I was asleep. The mirrors only came up to chest height, too. The pool looked nice, but it was locked on both sides. Weekend breakfast was the standard scrambled eggs and sausage. A few shops and restaurants are an easy walk away, and the front desk handled my special requests well. For what it costs, it's good value.

Right off the main highway, this place had recently renovated rooms that were clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. The price was affordable, and the customer service was great.
