Hallmark Inn and Suites

We didn't stay or even unload the cars. After seeing the rooms, we left and asked for our money back, but were refused. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. The first room's door could be pushed open. It had been kicked in, with the frame torn out and a poor repair attempt. The room was old, which wasn't the issue, but it was in bad shape: musty and smelling of stale cigarettes, with dirty-looking sheets, damaged bathroom fixtures and counter facing, worn carpet and curtains, and poor lighting. The second room was much the same. There were also several people who seemed to be long-term renters, one apparently running a business from her room, and two very intoxicated men going in and out of rooms. I'd booked two rooms for two nights after finding the hotel website two months ahead. The location looked good from the site's pictures and description, but I felt the website was misleading about the condition. It showed a three-star rating. Even with a generous assessment, I'd give it half a star at best.

We had to clean the rooms ourselves, and the toilet wouldn't flush without a plunger. I've seen homeless shelters that were cleaner and more accommodating.

By morning I did manage to get hot water, but the towels were stained before we even used them. I stuck it out for the night, though I'm hoping I don't bring any pests home to explain to my wife. The shower had no hot water at first, and the mattress was so bad I considered sleeping on the floor in my bag, then just put all our bags back in the vehicle. The tub looked like it had blood in it, but it was rust. There was even a supposed chalk outline from a previous guest, just kidding, I'm pretty sure there wasn't one. The guy who checked me in was great, but everything else was less than zero. They even charged a deposit. Avoid it if you can. If you're paying more than $25 or $30, that's probably too much.

The staff are really friendly and willing to work with you. It's a great option for workers and companies trying to save money.
