Motel 7

It's conveniently located if you need to be near downtown or get to Fort Hood. I'd read reviews that made me worry about bed bugs, but thankfully there were none in my room. The small refrigerator and microwave were a plus. There was no air conditioning, so the room was hot. Luckily, I spent most of the day out promoting and selling books, then came back at night to shower and rest. The building is very old, and the room paint could use a do-over; the bathtub and cabinetry are old too. The family running the motel are nice and try to keep stragglers and riffraff off the property, which I appreciate. #theroneshellmanmediareviews #motelreviews #killeentxreviews

I was worried after reading the reviews before I arrived, but they treated me very well during my stay. The rooms leave a lot to be desired, but what do you expect for $41? There were no bed bugs, despite what I'd read, and the father and son were friendly, not rude at all. I lost my room card when I went to dinner, and they made me a replacement right away at no charge.

It was a good, clean environment, until I showed up with the devil 😈 and spent the night.

There were spiders and roaches in the room, and the manager was racist toward people of color. They said we couldn't pay for another day because they didn't want us staying too long. Then they claimed the hotel had electrical problems and everyone had to leave and return tomorrow. But when I called the office to ask about a room for four days, they said plenty were available. Don't waste your time or money. Literally.
