Downtown Knoxville is beautiful, with plenty of chances to try different food and see the sights. The accommodations are gorgeous, and the staff seem like a friendly group. But the hotel is incredibly noisy, including inside the building, which doesn’t have much insulation in its older walls. Be careful with the billing. The staff leave a lot to be desired in that department, so check your hotel bill before you leave. I think there are more suitable hotels nearby. This particular tribute property misses a couple of high-end marks.
The location made it easy to get to everything we wanted to see and do. The staff were attentive and accommodating, always making an effort to make the stay feel special. The property is beautiful and elegant, with an upscale feel that still manages to be warm and welcoming. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with a luxurious touch. The amenities and service were lovely, and we’d absolutely stay again. Highly recommend if you want comfort, sophistication, and a great location.
Ask for a room away from Gay street if you want quiet. We’d read the reviews and knew to request one, so ours was perfectly quiet, and I got the best sleep I’ve ever had on a trip. The hotel is gorgeous, with the feel of a historic mansion and beautiful furniture and fixtures. The staff were friendly, attentive, and kind, and made us feel thoroughly looked after. It’s elegant and charming, and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. We’ll be back and tell all our friends.
The staff at Hotel Cleo were friendly and attentive, and our room was spacious with a well-appointed bathroom. The bed was a little too soft for me. We ate at the restaurant on our first night. It was a bit pricey, but convenient. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.
The property is immaculate, and the design, cleanliness, and attention to detail really stand out. I stayed in what I believe was their standard room. It was charming and well appointed, but also impressively huge, with ceilings at least 12 foot high. I found the old hardwood floors especially comforting, and the bathroom was beautiful. This boutique gem is in a historic building dating to 1897. The young woman who checked me in around midnight on 11/18/25 was kind, gracious, welcoming, and right on top of things. I was more impressed than I have been by Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis properties. I hope I never have to settle for another hotel when I visit Knoxville.
