Red Roof PLUS+ & Suites Knoxville West-Cedar Bluff

Shane, the man at the desk when we left, was the only pleasant part of the stay. We booked through Expedia at Red Roof Inn PLUS+ & Suites Knoxville West Cedar Bluff to rest before continuing our drive home after a difficult trip with a vehicle failure and towing costs. Instead, the room and hotel condition were unacceptable and didn't match what was advertised or what we paid for. We paid for a Premium Room with upgraded bedding and snack amenities, but the advertised snacks weren't there. The room wasn't properly cleaned: bugs inside, dirt and stains on surfaces, debris in the light fixtures, and grime along the walls and baseboards. The hallway and nearby rooms had a very strong marijuana smell throughout the floor. We chose the property partly for its listed hot tub, but only learned on arrival that it closes at 9:00 PM, which wasn't clearly stated in the booking listing. After a full day of travel, we had hoped to use it. When we saw the hot tub area, it looked poorly maintained, with visible debris and an unclean appearance. I'm frustrated and disappointed by the missing upgrade items, dirty room, odor, and unavailable amenity. I took photos documenting the condition and issues. I ask that the stay be reviewed and that Expedia help with an appropriate refund or compensation, and would appreciate a prompt response.

The hotel was generally OK, but housekeeping didn't seem to take pride in the work. All the outdoor garbage cans were full, with guests piling trash on top and beside them. My "premium" room was dirty, with bugs in the light, things on the walls, and unclean floors. There was hair and actual garbage on the shower's soap holder. I've never seen a hotel towel in such poor shape. I didn't photograph the stained side, but I did get a picture of the holes.

The staff were friendly and made the stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean and had refrigerators, a combined a/c and heater unit, a hair dryer, and an iron. Breakfast is complimentary and available before 9:30 a.m. I wish I'd known sooner that pets are welcome: one pet is free, and each additional one costs a small amount compared with boarding. Thanks to all the staff for making our time at the red roof plus + and suites such a good experience. I can't recommend the place enough.

The front desk ladies were very polite and helpful, and there are good food and drink options within walking distance. Just be ready for horrendous traffic during "rush hours." The room was okay. The hot tub was open this time, but only lukewarm on both nights, definitely not hot. The shower had great hot water, though the shower head wasn't very good and could use a proper cleaning. This was our second stay here, and we'd come again.
