Gundersen Hotel & Suites

The service at checkout was very friendly, and they helped me get what I needed. My room was clean, the bed and pillows were so comfortable, and the hot shower was relaxing after being out in below-zero wind. The air conditioner was great, no tangles, and the TV was easy to use with lots of channels. There was a coffee maker, fridge, and dryer too, plus food delivery was available. The little food area and pantry were cute for a late winter check-in. The pool was there, and breakfast had a veggie b omelet, pancakes, coffee, milk, juice, bagel, and cream cheese. I could see the hospital across the street, and there's a walkway so you don't have to go out in freezing cold or rain to visit it. I'd absolutely recommend this comfortable stay to a friend, and would definitely come back.

The front desk person was nice, but the chairs were all loose and the pool felt greasy. There was no hot tub, steam room, or shower at the pool. The first-floor elevator button was weak or broken, and it was hard to figure out how to enter the parking lot.

Check-in was easy, but the room had such a strong perfume smell it gave us a headache. We asked to move, but were told the hotel was fully booked and they couldn't switch us. Ugh, we ended up propping the door open while we were in there to get some fresh air.

The rooms were spacious, the hotel was nice and clean, and breakfast had a good variety and was really good. We were on the highway side, though, and it was pretty noisy. I'd recommend staying in an odd number room. I'd come back here.
