The only good part was the woman who checked us in. I was exhausted after a long drive and chose this place because it was the closest lodging, but the price was $86.90, not $57. The room door barely latched, and the screen door did not latch at all. The main door looked as if it had been forced open dozens of times, so locking it felt pointless. A broken piece of shower tile by the drain could have cut my foot if I hadn’t spotted it. The outlets were so worn that plugs fell out, and I had to tape them in place. There were cobwebs along the ceilings and walls, plus an exposed breaker that appeared to violate building code. The owner parked vehicles under the office awning, so I had to walk through freezing rain to get to the office and back to the car. Around 9 p.m. on Saturday, the owner and his friends arrived with music blaring from their car stereos. They seemed so drunk that they stalled the manual car about six times. I know it was the owner because I was outside smoking and he yelled from the car, “It's okay. I own this shit.” Old furniture littered the lawn behind the office, and I saw what looked like a drug deal in the parking lot near one of the rooms at the far back. 10 out of 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

It was somewhere to sleep 🤪. The shower only had lukewarm water coming out. We couldn’t find an ice dispenser. The heater worked great, though it was pretty old. There were two outlets already in use by the TV, fridge, microwave, AC, and lights, plus one free outlet in the bathroom that we used for our fan. We unplugged the AC to charge our phones, then noticed one outlet in each bedside lamp. The bathroom and overhead room lights were BRIGHT, but one bedside light was enough for us.

Everything we needed was within a 5-20 minute walk, and the location felt perfect. It was quiet too, aside from traffic on Mormon-Coulee. The staff were friendly and helpful, respected my privacy, and kept my clean, orderly room stocked with towels, soap, and other things as needed. Service was great, and I had a very pleasant stay. My one concern was the god-awful wifi, so bring a good data plan if you’ll spend much time online.

They made us leave after only two hours because dogs weren’t allowed. We hadn’t hidden the dog or tried to deceive anyone, and the pet restriction wasn’t listed in the online rules or posted in the office. No one told me at check-in, either. After telling me to leave, they kept $20 from my deposit and half of the $102 rental fee. Really unprofessional and handled badly.
