The Landing Hotel and Dining

The place was so cute and charming, and we were sorry we missed the restaurant downstairs. It smelled SO good, so we hope to eat there next time. My daughter and I stayed a couple of nights while in town for a volleyball tournament. One window wouldn’t open, and the other had no screen, so the room got a bit stuffy. Trains run through La Grande, too, so you might get woken up late at night. Still, we’d come back.

After a drive from Seattle, we arrived in the evening looking a little dazed and unsure where to go. I think one of the friendly bartenders noticed and kindly explained how to get in. We’re from Bermuda, and she was very pleasant. The room had the historic feel we wanted, but was neat, clean, and nicely decorated. Check-in and check-out were straightforward. We also had a late dinner and a couple of pints at a local pub, just a cold five-minute walk away. As a medium-sized business owner myself, I could tell this place is run with the customer in mind.

We needed somewhere within walking distance of our friend’s house, and The Landing worked out perfectly. The rooms were adorable and had everything we needed. It felt a bit like staying at a friend’s home, with our privacy intact. Check-in was easy, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. The boutique hotel has a lot of charm, which makes it feel unique. There’s a cute coffee shop called The Local across the street, with ice cream, coffee, and delicious breakfast sandwiches. We didn’t get to try the restaurant, but would like to if we visit again. If you want an aesthetic place to stay in La Grande, check it out. I’d recommend staying here again, 10/10.

Bobbie welcomed us and offered a glass of wine, since the restaurant wasn’t open the day we arrived. The hotel felt cozy and welcoming, and we had an absolutely amazing stay. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience. I’d definitely recommend it to friends and family. ❤️
