Days Inn by Wyndham Lafayette Near Lafayette Airport

The price was extremely affordable, which surprised me for such a lovely place right next to the airport. The Days Inn was immaculate from the moment I walked in, and my room was exceptionally clean and fresh. Navid at the front desk was warm, kind, and very professional. He took great care of me at both check-in and check-out, and I immediately felt at home. In the morning, I met two housekeeping staff members who were incredibly kind and accommodating. Their care explained why the room was so spotless and well kept. I highly recommend this location for comfort and value.

The room was disgusting, and there wasn't any hot water in the shower, so I had to take a Viking shower against my will. We only stayed one night, and I can begrudgingly forgive the state of the room, but the water was too much. This has been the worst experience of my life. The moment I can leave will be the best moment of my life, and I just hope I can forget this place someday.

When I called, the clerk told me they had either a hot breakfast or a continental breakfast, but that wasn't true. I was traveling with 3 diabetics and paid extra for this hotel so we wouldn't have to stop and spend another $50 to $70 on food we could eat without blood sugar problems. I went to the desk to explain and ask for some compensation, but they told Expedia we had eaten breakfast and refused even a partial refund. Later, one of the little girls with me left two stuffed animals under the bedroom pillows. We realized about 200 Mi down the road and called right away. I offered to pay if they'd mail them. They said they'd found the animals and would take care of it. I called several times over the next couple of days, and they said they were handling it. Then they said the manager had mailed them and had the tracking information. I thought that was very nice since they hadn't asked me for money. Two weeks later, the animals still hadn't arrived. After two calls in one day, I finally reached the manager, who said the animals were nowhere to be found, had never been mailed, and they'd keep looking. The young girl had lost a sentimental stuffed dragon that can't be replaced, and she broke down crying for the next hour. I'd been telling her for two weeks it would be taken care of. They didn't just lie to me, they made me a liar too.

I stay in plenty of hotels while traveling, and it's rare to get a stay without problems these days. The DaysInn in Lafayette had what I look for: clean rooms, friendly staff, a decent location, and good WiFi. I'd be very happy to stay there again when I travel through the area.
