Hampton Inn Lafayette

There was a lot more to breakfast than the website suggests: eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, waffles with a choice of batters, oatmeal and plenty of toppings, plus pastries, fruit, cereal and juices. The staff were friendly and professional throughout. Our room was clean, roomy and comfortable, and the bathroom was too. The shower could get very hot, and the bed was comfortably firm. My one issue was that you could clearly hear the springs as you moved around on it.

I’d give this place zero stars. A dog had peed all over the bed in room 364. A supervisor told staff to deal with the mattress by spraying it with something scented, then flipping it over. That’s disgusting. How many other rooms are like this?

We didn’t sleep well because the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The tub was in rough shape, and there was a big clump of hair on the shower wall. The trash hadn’t been emptied, and it still had a baby’s diaper in it. The coffee supplies in the room were missing sugar and creamer too.

I paid over $400 a night during grad weekend and expected a clean room. The shower was filthy, the bathroom shelf looked like it hadn’t been wiped in ages, and the bed skirts had several obvious old stains. Breakfast was overly processed, very salty and inedible, nowhere near what I expect from a Hampton Inn. Service was poor too. Nobody mentioned at check-in that housekeeping only comes every three days. When I called, I was told to come to the desk for towels, which didn’t solve the filthy bathroom. My Diamond status wasn’t acknowledged and I got no perks. I don’t see myself staying here again, especially with so many newer places nearby that are much better. Do better.
