The room was clean, and the people were friendly and careful in their work. Getting to the Lodge takes a few quick turns. I arrived after dark and would’ve liked more light in the parking area. There’s a raised step, about an inch to an inch and a half, going into the sink and closet area. In the dark, it’s easy to smash your toe on the way to the toilet.

The woman at check-in was very nice, and the room was about what I expected for the price and age of the building. Still, I felt unsafe as a woman. It had a connecting room, and the deadbolt on our side had no hole to lock into. The door on the other side didn’t even have a knob. I assume that room wasn’t in use, but it bothered me. There were also lots of holes in the wall where things seemed to have been hung with nails. Given the condition, who knows if there were cameras.

I travel for work and stay in a lot of Choice Hotels, so I’m always thinking about cleanliness and bugs. This room was clean and bug-free, which made me happy. Any hotel can have a bug problem, not just economy places, and the negative reviews about bugs and cleanliness didn’t match what I found. Check-in was smooth and easy. I was in Pensacola for the end of the week and needed an overnight stop before heading back to South Carolina the next day. For the price, this hotel seemed like a good fit for the area, with plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s comfortable and affordable, and I’d stay here again the next time I’m in Lake City FL. I’d recommend it to others too. They also have really good coffee in the breakfast area. Thanks for the restful stay, Econo Lodge. See you soon.

The standout here is the staff. They’re friendly, professional, and work hard. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the property is only about two minutes from I-75. Breakfast was good too, with hot coffee, cereals, danish, grits, and more.

We were pleasantly surprised. It was a convenient place to stop on our way south, and both the room and property were clean. We felt safe and comfortable.
