Tiki Resort

The room was clean and spacious, the bed spotless, and the newly renovated bathroom had plenty of hot water. It’s very close to Lake George, and taking a nice stroll in the evening can make the stay even better. Our visit was amazing overall. One drawback: some outlets didn’t work, so we couldn’t use the in-room coffee maker because there wasn’t a working plug for it.

The staff were extremely nice and accommodating, and the water pressure was strong with very hot water. Our room was pleasant, though it could use a little TLC. There was a gap in the wall around the heating and AC unit, the coffee maker didn’t work well, and the bathroom could use another hook or towel bar. The fridge and microwave worked fine. At the end of the season, dining choices were scarce, so we had to drive everywhere.

The indoor pool area smelled so overpowering that it was hard to breathe, and the property needs serious improvement in cleanliness. Front desk staff seemed unprofessional and uninterested in helping guests. Their appearance and behavior made me uneasy about whether they were fit to work. In the breakfast area, I politely asked for more rolls and butter, and the staff member responded rudely, as though I was being a nuisance.

The biggest problem was the carpet. It was so old and dirty that my feet and socks turned black just from walking on it. The rooms are roomy, the beds and pillows were comfortable, and the hotel has done some updating. Bathrooms are cramped, with a large sink but no counter space. I heard the poolside rooms have been fully updated if you’re willing to pay more. For the price, the hotel has a nice feel and the outdoor pool is big, warm, and pleasant, though deep. There’s also a little kids’ pool that lights up at night. The indoor pool is smaller, but warm and not as deep, so it’s good on a rainy or cool day. Wi-Fi was poor, and phone service was bad too, so don’t count on internet access.
