Travelodge by Wyndham Lake George NY

There wasn't a coffee maker or even cups for brushing our teeth. Breakfast wasn't included and didn't exist there at all. The sheets had stains and blood on them, and the bed was very uncomfortable with flat pillows. If I'd known breakfast wasn't included, I wouldn't have stayed. One more thing, mice got into our room and ate a package of cookies we brought. The place was filthy and not worth what they charged.

The property is run down on a hillside, not very walkable and not close to anything. The rooms were filthy, the beds terrible, and the old sheets and blankets were awful. Lots of things were broken or hadn't been maintained. There were no microwaves or coffee makers in the rooms, the first hotel I've been in without those amenities in 30 years. At 830am, the front office door was locked and nobody was there. The walls were paper thin with no soundproofing. Pick another hotel at random and it'll be better. This place should be shut down.

Waking up to the mountains through a huge window was so peaceful. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower water was just the right temperature. I’d read some reviews and expected the worst, but I was greeted with warm smiles when I arrived.

The pool has lovely views, the AC worked well, and the location is convenient but quiet, close to everything including I-87. The man at the desk was very nice and even came to the room with me to check that it was acceptable. Still, the room needs a serious remodel. The bed and pillows were somewhat uncomfortable, the fridge didn’t work properly, and the driveway and lot have huge potholes that need repaving. There’s no visible illuminated sign, so the entrance is hard to spot, especially at night on a 45 MPH road. No complimentary breakfast, either. I’m on the fence about coming back. I booked this three-day, two-night trip at the last minute and was on a budget, so it was the most reasonably priced hotel I found. Maybe I’ll stay here again next summer, maybe not.
