Delivering here in winter was like being on an ice rink without skates. Even my car slid while it was parked.
The bathroom had an awful sewage-like smell and wasn’t very clean. The showerhead was so low it came up to my eyes, the faucet kept dripping, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. The floor was filthy, and the bed was hard as a rock. I booked online and expected something very different. The place felt more like a camp than a motel, and I paid $279.00 for the room. I’ve paid much less for far nicer rooms. I never unpacked or used anything, and quickly decided to leave. The owner was rude when I explained the dirt and water problems, and refused to reimburse me. I wouldn’t recommend booking here unless it were $50-$60 a night. Nearly $300 is way too much for this dump, especially with plenty of nicer Lake George places for less. I didn’t get reimbursed, but fortunately found an available room at the Marine Village Resort.
We were in town for a concert near downtown, and this was close by and a good deal on a busy holiday weekend compared with other area hotels. It was a little better than I expected from the reviews. The place is independently owned, and they seemed to be doing their best with a full weekend. Don’t expect Hilton accommodations, but it wasn’t grungy either. There was free Wi-Fi, a comfortable bed, new floors, and cold AC. My only gripe was the showerhead being really low, something I’d never seen before. Bring your own toiletries, even though they had some.
The room and bathroom were clean, and the beds were really comfortable. My husband and I spent a week here for my birthday and thought the property was very nice. The motel had been redone nicely, too. We’ll be back for our anniversary in September!
The pictures made this place look so much better than it was. Bugs were everywhere, and I lost count of how many spiders we had to kill. It smelled awful, and I didn’t even want to sleep under the sheets. For $100, I guess this is what you get, but they could at least have cleaned the rooms. It looked absolutely disgusting and not even clean.
