Lake Placid Inn: Residences

The room was clean, roomy, and easy to access. When we arrived, we found that the bathroom sink wasn't draining. Staff were very attentive and got the repair taken care of promptly. Checking in at the lake placid inn boutique hotel was a little inconvenient, though the drive into the village was an easy 5 minutes. I'd definitely stay again.

The lighting was terrible, and a mirror in the bedrooms would be useful for getting dressed. For a place of this size, it could maybe use a washer and dryer too. Those are small things, though, and they didn't stop us from returning for a second stay. We were in Lake Placid for my grandson's hockey tournament and decided to have our Thanksgiving family dinner there. The rooms worked well for us, everything was very clean, and the location was good.

The property, amenities, interior, and overall space were wonderful. We had a great stay otherwise and would plan to come back. The check-in woman was one of the rudest people my husband encountered. When we arrived late Sunday night, we asked about the different check-in and residence addresses, but she only gave yes or no answers and asked, “Were you not already aware that you are staying at different place?” Then she asked him if he did or didn't want to check in and said otherwise he would have to deal with Expedia for a refund. We didn't yet know what the other property would be like, and after about a 6 hour drive with 2 small kids, we were just tired. We were also frustrated that there were no extra blankets and nobody on site to help. I got the message saying to reach out with questions late at midnight, after we had all gone to sleep.

When a plumbing problem came up as we arrived, maintenance showed up in 5 mins. The job was going to take a bit longer than expected, so staff offered us a room upgrade, and the maintenance man helped carry our luggage to the new room. The staff were friendly and accommodating. This Inn in Lake Placid is perfect, with beautifully updated, well appointed rooms and a location that's convenient for everything. I highly recommend it, and we'll book again.
