The lodge made walking into town easy, so we didn’t have to deal with finding parking there. My daughter loved the cats, which gave the place a homey feel. We stayed for a long weekend, and our room was extremely clean and quaint, with two beds and its own private bathroom. Breakfast was simple but fine. We’d certainly stay again.

After a long day hiking, my husband and I stayed here. The hot showers and morning continental breakfast were nice, and the room had a cozy, old-fashioned feel. For the price, it was decent, though this isn't the best B&B I've stayed in. In my room, the bathroom was out in the hallway, the pillows flattened as soon as I lay down (thankfully I'd brought my own), and the room was warmer than I liked. There was a ceiling fan but no temperature control. Light also came in around the door because its frame didn't quite line up. You get what you pay for.

Staying in the sleigh room in the main house felt like stepping back in time, almost like being in my parents' home. It was really comforting and homey. We weren't sure what to expect, but this felt like a true B&B, without the commercial feel. Breakfast was simple, with cereal, toast, mini bagels, coffee, juice, and especially delicious breads. The owner shared stories about the old house and Lake Placid's history, and the village is only a short drive away. It was a great experience, and we'll be back. Tim and Moe

Our room was small but cozy, and I enjoyed the stay and breakfast in the morning. The place seemed friendly, with people often sitting together in the common room, chatting over the games or TV. It's near the shops, but far enough away that we could sleep peacefully with the windows open for a breeze.

I stayed here about five years ago. The proprietor was nice enough, and the room was large, though basic. There was no A/C, and it was hot as blazes. Breakfast was pretty lousy, just cereal and toast. I expected a charming B and B, but didn't find the place charming, and I can't say I'd stay here again.
