Hampton Inn Lancaster

The room was clean and breakfast had a nice range of choices. It's a decent option if you need somewhere quick. The pool was shut for upgrades, which I understand, but they should update the amenities listing while it's closed. Families choosing a hotel specifically for a working pool could be misled.

Everyone was really polite, and the hotel felt clean and fresh. It's probably the nicest basic hotel I've stayed in lately. I booked after reading the Travelocity.com reviews, and the place exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was simple but good. I would've been disappointed if my youngest had been with me, though, since the pool was closed.

We stopped here late during a road trip from NC to MI to sleep. In the morning we spotted a red, chunky splatter on the wall outside the bathroom and on the door frame, which looked like vomit. I told the front desk when we checked out, and they didn't seem bothered. Three days after getting home, we found a bedbug that had hitched a ride with us. This was the only hotel we stayed at, so it couldn't have come from anywhere else. I'm disgusted and extremely unhappy with the stay. It wasn't worth $160 a night.

We had an issue with the shower not getting hot in our first room, but the staff handled it wonderfully and offered to move us. The replacement room was great. Everything else about the place was awesome, and I'd recommend staying here.
