Best Western Mission Inn

The heated tile in the dressing and bathroom area was such a surprise, and the room had new carpet and soft, comfortable bedding. This Mission Inn in Las Cruces is stunning, with really spacious rooms. I love finding these Best Westerns from the 1960s, they feel like hidden gems. It was quiet, though we were lucky enough to hear the train whistle, which we loved. Most of all, it felt safe, and the price was very reasonable for the amenities.

The shower gave us a painful surprise: the cold water cut out for a few seconds and the water turned scalding. Don't turn the hot water up too high, and be careful if it starts heating up. I was fine and didn't get burned, but it was a lesson learned. Even with that, we'd make this our preferred stop again. The staff were friendly, the room was roomy and nicely decorated, and it felt more like staying with family or friends than at a hotel. The bed was so comfortable we slept through the free breakfast, which looked like it must have been delicious. It's a lovely oasis for tired travelers, not right off I-10 but still close enough to be worth the detour.

Breakfast was good, and the clean room and bedding made this an ideal place for our family to stop for the night on the road. It was a good value and conveniently close to I-10.

After a ten-hour trip from our Christmas vacation, my family was exhausted. It was 3 a.m., and other hotels and motels had turned us away. Jonathan at the desk was pleasant on the phone and in person, and helped us find a safe place to rest as we continued toward home in San Antonio, Texas. He even offered breakfast. Tracy was sweet and an excellent cook at breakfast. Thank you both for taking such good care of us. Have a wonderful New Year.
