The people were fantastic, very friendly, and the gated parking was great. The location is fairly close to the Strip and the airport. We had a balcony with a decent, if distant, view. The waterslides looked fun for kids, but it was too cold for us to try them. The rooms are suites with a bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchenette, a full bath, and a half bath. But the half-bath shower didn’t work, and the plumbing in the other bathroom made awful sounds whenever anyone on the floor used their bathroom, enough to wake us at night. The carpet, furniture, and wallpaper all looked old. For what it costs, it isn’t really worth it. Service was great, though I think the on-site sales staff may have something to do with the friendliness since they’re there to sell you a timeshare. This is a Vacation Club, after all. Expect the sales team to briefly accost you at check-in.
The beds were rock hard, though the pillows were soft and comfortable. That was the least of it, unfortunately. Our smoke detector kept sounding off during the stay, and although we reported it, nobody came to fix it. The bathroom ceiling had a hole with toilet paper stuffed into it when we arrived. We told the front desk right away, and someone came by while we were out, but it left us uneasy about the room's condition. The supposedly remodeled room looked worn and old. Then at midnight the toilet started making loud gurgling sounds, like water might back up and overflow. An engineer arrived around 1 a.m., said water collects on the first floor, and suggested shutting the bathroom door to muffle it. He tried plunging the toilet, but that explanation wasn't reassuring. I had been looking forward to staying at the Hilton Cancun Las Vegas, especially after hearing the rooms were renovated. The maintenance problems and the room itself made this a disappointing stay that fell short of what we expected.
We agreed to attend a Las Vegas timeshare presentation after being told it would take 90 to 120 minutes. We were there for more than three and a half hours. At check-in, the registration already felt like an assessment. Later comments about our lifestyle and finances made it seem they had evaluated us as buyers, and remarks during the pitch gave us the strong impression that our social media and personal information had been reviewed to shape the sales approach. At one point, we were told we could talk about the offer privately as a family, and we were left alone to decide. When we said no, especially because we didn't want a lifelong financial commitment, the staff's manner changed. The first representative became ironic and dismissive. Then another person came in with an emotional story, forceful persuasion, and more aggressive offers in a challenging tone. The pressure kept up, apparently to wear down our decision. What concerned me most was that they seemed to know details from the conversation we thought was private. I asked directly if it had been listened to, and the supervisor acknowledged that conversations are recorded on audio and video. We had not been clearly told that this supposedly private discussion was being recorded or that our words could be used to adjust the pitch. Anyone going should know the presentation can run well past the stated time, and they may assess you as a prospective buyer from the start. A private conversation may not be private, and saying no may bring emotional pressure or a shift in attitude. Vacations should be relaxing. People shouldn't feel pressured, manipulated, or exposed for declining. I'm sharing this respectfully and responsibly so others can protect their time, personal information, and peace of mind. A. O.
The pool was a huge hit with my kids. The water was warm, and they went down the waterslides over and over. The waterfall section stayed closed the whole time, which was a little disappointing, but with such a big pool it wasn't a major problem. We had a suite with a king bed and pullout couch. It was clean and comfortable, with a kitchenette stocked with tableware, silverware, a coffee pot, and a fridge. There were two full bathrooms, and the kids loved the big tub. Michael at the front desk was kind and accommodating, and check-in was quick and easy. No problems! Getting around was convenient too. The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from the Strip, with restaurants and shops nearby. We mainly came to see Allegiant stadium, which is just across the freeway from the Strip, so that worked out great. We were really happy with our stay, and grateful to the staff for being so helpful.
I was there on a business trip by myself. The hotel feels older, and nothing especially stands out. My large one-bedroom unit had two bathrooms. I got the impression it's more geared toward families traveling with kids. It's on the southern outskirts of Las Vegas, so it isn't a great base if you're hoping to visit the Strip. With the traffic and location, getting around on foot isn't practical, and you'll need a car.
