We came for the Babyface concert over Valentine’s Day weekend, and the show was great. Despite the holiday crowd, check-in was quick and easy, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but needed some fixes. The hallway light was out, the bodywash and shampoo holders had come off the wall and were sitting on a shower ledge, and the toilet wouldn’t flush properly. We had to call maintenance for a plunger. There weren’t many places to eat outside the hotel since it’s off the main Strip, but the food options there were decent. A pretty decent stay overall.

We didn’t stay at Palms Casino Resort this time, but after spending time in the casino, my wife and I wished we’d booked it instead of Mandalay Bay. We’ll keep it in mind for our next visit. The casino was relaxed and comfortable, with a good range of table games and poker machines. It was well air-conditioned and ventilated, so the smoke that’s noticeable in many other casinos wasn’t a problem. Parking was free, staff were friendly, and we were offered complimentary drinks while playing.

The new tower rooms are beautiful, and the casino is clean with plenty of resort amenities to choose from. But the staff seemed disorganized and confused. Even with a reservation, my room wasn’t ready when I arrived, and I waited 90 minutes. The room itself was beautiful once I got in, but on a work trip, getting time to rest matters more to me than an upgrade. Palms can do better.

Being off the Strip makes this place feel a lot less chaotic, and an Uber to the Strip is about $8. The pool is great and less crowded than the Strip pools, and there are good restaurants and nightlife at Ghostbar. The renovated Palms looks stunning. The rooms are modern and stylish, and the art collection, with Damien Hirst pieces everywhere, is worth seeing on its own. This property is seriously underrated.

I didn’t stay here, just went to Ghostbar. The crowd was a good mix of generations, all vibing, and the view might be the best in Vegas. Drinks were okay but not very strong. I had two Long Islands and an Adios and only felt a slight buzz, not drunk. Get on the guest list for free entry. Ladies get free champagne, and guys get half off one drink with the drink tickets. The first DJ wasn’t good, every song had the same techno beat, but the second DJ brought the energy with a mix of everything. I’d go back, it was a good time.
