There are some good points: the location is close to freemont street, and the hotel has a good selection of affordable bars and restaurants. The rooms were filthy, though. In the “deluxe king” we first got, the sheets were stained, the carpets were old and gross, the dresser was dusty, and there was a used razor in the shower. We asked to move. The “luxe queen” was a little cleaner, and the hardwood floors were less gross than the carpet, but after walking around for a while, the bottoms of my socks and feet were still black. Noise was on another level. I expect hotels and Vegas to be loud, but most days the bass from the Circa pool next door shook the walls from 9am-9pm, then freemont street music did the same from 9pm-2am. Earplugs blocked some sound but didn’t do much against the bass. The walls are thin too. I could hear the next-door neighbours' conversations, TV, and phone notifications as if they were in my room. There’s no deadbolt on the door, which made me feel pretty unsafe alone in the room. The hotel feels very outdated, even the “newer” rooms, and badly needs an update. With so many Vegas hotels at similar or lower prices that are nicer and cleaner, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless there’s literally no other option.

Fremont is easy to get around on foot, with free concerts and so many things nearby. I love Fremont Street, and this access makes the location ideal. It takes me too long to get out of one Strip resort and over to the next, so Fremont works better for getting around. The rooms have been updated to a point and are clean and spacious, though the bathrooms still need work. Staff are friendly, especially Gladys in group sales.

I won’t stay at the Plaza Hotel & Casino again. The room felt dirty and outdated and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The casino’s smoking environment made it very hard for me to breathe because of my asthma. At check-in, I told Dwayne I needed a non-smoking room due to asthma and smoke sensitivity, but I was put on a smoking floor in a room that reeked of smoke. I was told I couldn’t switch because I’d booked through a third-party website. The next morning, when I asked Susan at checkout about non-smoking options and explained that I’d been struggling to breathe, I got attitude and a cold “you booked through a third party, so too bad” response. There was no empathy or concern about my asthma symptoms. Policies are policies, but customer service and basic human decency still matter. It’s shocking to see so much money put into attractions and appearances while the customer experience is neglected. If you’re staying on Fremont Street, I’d personally look into Golden Nugget Las Vegas or Circa Resort & Casino instead.

I’d stayed at the Plaza for more than 10 years without a bad experience, but this visit was very disappointing. In our room on the 8th floor of the South tower, the bathroom and tub looked wiped rather than washed: there were water marks around the tub, mold in the caulking, dirty grout, uncleaned tiles, and lots of debris behind the door. We had no rubber mat, only two towels for a two bed room, and a clogged sink. The refrigerator freezer was full of ice. After an unwelcome visitor in our bed, a BB, I moved it to check whether it was contaminated and found a LOT OF TRASH, including used prophylactics. There was NO HOT WATER Saturday afternoon, and the pool water was very cold even though I understood it was heated. As an experienced hospitality housekeeper, I know these issues are easy to fix with a good POA for housekeeping managers and supervisors and weekly follow-up. Housekeeping supervisors need to pay more attention to the room attendants’ work. Very sad to have this experience.
