Baymont by Wyndham Latham Albany Airport

I booked here partly because breakfast was included, which seemed like a useful bonus. There’s a dining hall with a sign saying breakfast runs from 6 AM to 9 AM, but it wasn’t being used. When I asked the desk staff about it, they offered a bagel, muffin, oatmeal, or apple juice. I’m not upset that breakfast wasn’t available, but I don’t like being misled.

This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s close to the airport, but the place is run down and disgusting. If you’re looking for a trap house, this is your spot. If you want somewhere nice to stay before a flight the next day, look elsewhere. I can’t believe they let it keep operating. Do not stay here.

The room looked fine when I first walked in, but the bathroom and bed quickly changed that impression. There were dead flies all over the bathtub floor, smudges on the mirror, and a bright red mark on the bed that looked like paint. It was disgusting, and I wouldn’t recommend staying at this Baymont. The lobby also had quite a few flies, and the receptionist was rarely at the desk. I tried to switch rooms, but waited ten minutes without finding anyone and had to leave for a wedding. I called after the ceremony and was told they’d handle it when I got back. Around 8 that night, the receptionist said he thought I was in my room, even though I’d already explained on the phone where I was. I ended up getting another phone, but my stay was still awful.

The property felt run down and could use some work, and there wasn’t much of a breakfast. I was there alone for one night. It seemed like some guests might be living there long term. The hotel was very average, and if I were traveling with my family, I’d choose somewhere else.
