Lauderdale Beachside

The people who made my five nights comfortable deserve a thank you. Jasmine at the front desk has a warm smile and really tries to help. Suzette at the desk was a dear, Kent the supervisor is a real gentlemen, and Eugene, the new bellman, was friendly and helpful. AJ at the coffee shop made the best cappuccino I had each morning, and Bianca at Octopus resto. is great. The avocado toast was very good. The team at Backflip resto on the beach was great too, with good food, a fun happy hour, and the best wings! One front desk lady with glasses was rude, moody, and never smiled. Her name might start with Mar--. Being kind to guests matters at the front desk. The room was fine, but I was surprised and disappointed there was no basic coffee machine. I travel quite a bit, and there’s always a coffee machine. There was no micro-wave either. Buyer beware, 'resort view' may mean looking out at parked cars and a parking area. My first room had a depressing view. After two days, a better view and more sunlight on a higher floor helped with the parking view.

We’ve been coming here for over a decade and always book the king ocean view room. This visit was a 50th birthday gift, planned well in advance, and I booked more than 4 months ago. We arrived one hour before we had to leave for a show we’d booked. Julio checked us in, but directed us to a room that wasn’t on the beach with a full ocean view. I showed him my confirmation email from Oct. 2025 for the beach front full ocean view King. He said that building was under renovations. That was a major letdown. They had 4 months to call us. Julio was nice about it. He gave us 5 free drink cards and 4 breakfast cards, and lowered the rate to match the room we stayed in. We looked out at the building in front of us, with the ocean on either side in the foreground, and the dumpsters below. We really missed our full ocean view room. We’ll return once the ocean side building is finished. Photo (July 2022) shows the view we booked, and photo (March 2026) shows the view we got.

I’ve stayed at Plunge several times and have always been happy with it. Being able to control the room A/C myself and sleep well in the beds matters a lot to me. Little things like water bottles at the bar help too. Staff are kind and helpful, and do what they can to make the stay comfortable. The beach is right outside the door, and good coffee at "Bean and Barnacle" makes sunrise a great time of morning. Lauderdale-by-the-sea is a cozy town with good restaurants and easy access to what you need. Highly recommend it, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

I’ve been to Plunge Beach resort several times during 2025, and it’s been consistently great. The location right on a beautiful sandy beach is hard to beat, in a friendly and relaxing area. Staff are genuinely friendly and service minded. The check-in team welcomes you warmly, works efficiently, and is always willing to go the extra mile. A special shout-out to Bean & Barcle for fantastic morning coffee, one of the best ways to start the day. The beach bar fits the laid-back beach atmosphere perfectly. Beautiful setting, great service, and a consistently good stay. Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be back during 2026, and I’m looking forward to first visit in January.
