Super 8 by Wyndham Laurel

The front desk woman was helpful and courteous, which was the one good part. The room was still dirty from whoever stayed before, the mattress was so hard I couldn’t sleep, and the AC barely worked, so I was hot all night. The website also didn’t say they don’t accept animals.

The place is old and worn, but it works as somewhere to sleep, and they did return the things my daughter left behind. The first night and check-in went fine. On night two, check-in took 20 minutes, our key wouldn’t work, and the room smelled like cat pee. Service and room condition seem hit or miss, though they seem like good people.

We were only there long enough to sleep before getting back on the road. The AC quit about three minutes after we entered the room, there were hairs all over the tub, and the bathroom walls had various liquids smeared on them. There were roaches in both the room and bathroom, other people’s drinks in the mini fridge, and empty beer cans and bags all over the sidewalks and stairs. Absolutely do NOT recommend.

Norman at the front desk made checking in this evening easy and was really helpful. I hope more super 8s follow his example of what a great employee should be.
