Americas Best Value Inn Lebanon, MO

It’s a basic, inexpensive motel: you get a room and a shower. The truck and trailer were a tight fit in the parking lot, but cars should be fine. The hot water took a little while to come through. The AC was cold and the TV worked.

It’s not a fancy place, but we felt welcome and the price worked for us. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and they’ve done a nice job bringing the place back to life.

The rooms weren’t clean, and breakfast was disappointing, with stale food and very few choices. Staff were disrespectful and acted as though their mistakes were my fault.

The manager’s attitude made an already confusing situation feel worse. I had prepaid, and when I arrived I willingly paid the $100 deposit, even after being told I was being given a room “against” his “better judgement.” I explained that I was traveling alone, but he kept saying I couldn’t have visitors. I thought my reservation had been extended by a day, but the system had created two separate stays. So, despite having prepaid, I paid another deposit and was told I had to “check out tomorrow” because “we don’t allow this.” I still don’t know what “this” meant. There were many empty rooms, and the place itself was very clean, but the way I was treated made it seem much worse. I’d be very surprised if I came back because of that attitude. Update: I came to Lebanon from Georgia because safety matters to me, so I understand the safety policy. Still, the things he said were out of line. He made me feel like a criminal, and I didn’t feel my business was appreciated. I hope they can work through this communication problem.
