Red Roof Inn Lexington

The place smelled so strongly of weed when we walked in that it was breathtaking, and there were roaches crawling across the check-in counter. We reserved a room through a third-party site, but they refused to give us the room we had booked. The older heavyset woman was rude throughout and kept giving us attitude. She wouldn't share her name or give us a contact for anyone above her. We asked for the GM's name and number, but staff refused to provide them. One staff member was on the phone with the GM, and we could hear him cursing. The staff were rude and cursing as well. The service was a complete disaster. Don't come here. You'll regret it. Total waste of time and money.

People were coming and going after midnight, so I didn't get a decent night's sleep. I had booked a non-smoking room, but mine smelled strongly of smoke. There wasn't a microwave, not even in the lobby.

Joseph made my late-evening check-in easy. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout my stay, and helped make sure I had what I needed for a safe, happy trip. Customer service isn't easy, and I appreciated his effort.

The bathroom floor ended up soaked because the shower curtain didn't keep water in the tub. That may explain why the wood-look vinyl felt so sticky. I suspect there could be mold underneath it. The carpet beside the bed, closest to the bathroom, was soaked with old urine. I couldn't see or smell it, probably because the room was doused with air freshener, but found out when I stepped in it. It might have been dog urine or a bathroom sewage leak. The sheets looked clean but had stains, and black mold covered the AC vents and other parts of the room. I stayed one night and regretted it.
