Regal 8 Inn & Suites

This place is a dump. The TV didn't work, and there was a big dog barking next door. It was only 5 pm, but they still wouldn't refund me. The staff were rude and brushed off any attempt to get help. He had his money and that was all he cared about.

We reserved a room for our vendor for five nights, more than a week ahead. At check-in, the desk worker said there was no reservation and that it had been cancelled, even though we had a confirmation number, an email, and a check-in confirmation from 24 hours before. We booked through Expedia, which still showed it as active. The hotel wouldn't speak with the Expedia representative and kept saying, "No room you cancel." Our rep was stranded without a room, and the hotel suddenly seemed to be sold out. They also wouldn't honor the cancellation policy. After more than two hours, Expedia got my money back and we found another hotel. The staff were outright rude and customer service was terrible. Don't book here, it sounds like they take the money and run.

Lincoln, IL motels are pretty expensive. I usually use the Super 8, but on weekends even the deal apps put it around $100 a night. I visit my family as often as I can, and that cost is too much for one person, especially with gas and food so expensive. This motel has been around forever and has now been remodeled. It's nothing fancy, but my room was nice, especially compared with the Super 8 room I had on Thursday. It was around $60 even on the weekend, in a great Lincoln neighborhood. I'll stay here from now on!

Check-in was quick, and the room was a good size, but I paid around $90 for something that felt worth $50-$60. The place was dirty: there was a lot of mold inside the fridge door, hair, dried soap, and grey grime in the bath, plus small curly hairs and stains of different colors on the sheets. The walls were paper thin, so you could hear everything the neighbors did. Breakfast was just a choice of three Little Debbie-type cakes. Also, the sign says Motel 6, so I'm not sure why it's called Regal 8 Inn & Suites.
