Staybridge Suites, Lincolnshire by IHG

The rooms aren't fancy or soundproof, but I loved the breakfast and the hotel's vibe. The staff were great, and the free shuttle to nearby places was a nice touch. On some weekday evenings they also have social times with a basic free dinner or snack buffet.

The rooms are spacious and mostly clean, but there were dogs barking behind doors and people leaving full garbage bags outside overnight, which can attract bugs. I also saw a drunk man walking around at night looking into cars. My biggest issue was with the dark-haired, tan-skinned, heavyset woman at the front desk. I was on the phone with my husband and accidentally let the F word slip. She yelled at me like I was her child. I'm a grown woman paying to stay here for a week, and it isn't cheap. She had no right to yell at me over something that slipped out, even if it offended her. She already seemed agitated when she came out of her office and asked for my room number, then hearing me seemed to set her off. I feel like I was the person she chose to take her frustration out on. I'm going to talk to the manager and file a complaint. If cussing is a problem for her, she should expect to argue with the whole world. We're adults, so she needs to get her emotions in check and leave them at home. Get over it, big girl.

The location was great, with restaurants nearby and everything close, which is why we chose this hotel. The rooms were fine, but we bought an air purifier to deal with a bad odor, and the price wasn't low. At night, neighbors often played music and made noise, and staff didn't do anything. There were also different kinds of bugs, including spiders, coming through a damaged window even when it was closed. Nothing extreme, but it's still unpleasant to have things flying around the room. For long-stay guests, cleaning was once a week. They changed the sheets and replaced the towels, but I wouldn't really call that cleaning. I thought they would actually clean the room and hoped it might happen daily. The stay was fine, but I don't think we'll come back.

The suites were cozy, clean, and fully equipped, and the location was decent. The multilingual service was great, with staff attentive to even small details. Special thanks to the reception team, especially Yuliia. Keep up the fantastic work 👍👋
