My business partner of 30 years always says that people do business with people they like. That describes Michael, Karrie, and their family perfectly. Their friendliness and effort to make sure guests were looked after made our two days in the area even better. We had a comfortable room and excellent breakfasts. They’ve even turned me into someone who eats yogurt and fruit.

Karrie was kind, welcoming, and always happy to help with our questions during our two-night stay. She made the visit feel special. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the restaurant food was fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. It’s a great spot for exploring the area, just a short drive from Camden. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and highly recommend it.

The food at Aster & Rose was fantastic every time we ate there, which ended up being seven dinners. They don’t serve dinner Sunday and Monday, or Tuesday at certain times of the year. Chef Michael made handmade pasta, sauces, focaccia, and plenty I can’t even name. Every dish arrived hot, and I’ve never eaten better. Mary served us with care each night, always smiling. She was fun, easygoing, witty, and knew Aster & Rose inside and out. She stayed attentive to customers and coworkers while she “flits” around, and I call her “fun-pressional.” Elliott also helped with our road fatigue, mixing two wonderful Long Island Iced Teas at the Aster & Rose bar, in the same building. We came for six days, then extended to eight and finally nine. The people are what make the place, and everyone made us feel at home. After a ten-hour drive, check-in was quick and easy. Karrie found us outside and promptly showed us in, and Payson had our bags in the room before we got there. I had time to peek into all six guest rooms. They’re similar but each has its own charm, and all have comfortable beds, good linens, and air conditioning, which matters a lot. Karrie seemed to do everything: register guests, clean rooms, serve breakfast and dinner, arrange fresh flower displays, and act as a cheerful local guide for those of us who had no idea where to go or what to see. We also lucked into nine days of great weather, apart from a couple of humid days and evenings. As someone from Phoenix, I really appreciated the relief. If you’ve read this far, you’re either bored or enthralled, but this place is the real deal. The small team works beautifully together, and I’d return in a heartbeat. Thanks to everyone for your efforts, including Noah and Santa. Until we meet again.

The Youngtown Inn was the best B&B I’ve stayed at, and if you need somewhere in the area, I doubt you’ll regret choosing it. The lovely staff treated us like family and regulars right from the start. Breakfast and dinner were both incredible, well beyond what we expected. We’re grateful we found such a beautiful place and really hope to return. Room five upstairs was clean and comfortable, with an adorable French door looking out over a field. I personally prefer modern, updated rooms, so that kept me from giving the room five stars, but modernizing this little house might take away its magic. The only location drawback for us was needing to drive everywhere. Still, don’t let those two things put you off.
