Homewood Suites by Hilton Little Rock Downtown

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the location is good. That's about all I can say in the hotel's favor. I woke up to a cockroach crawling on the bathroom floor, after checking in to a room with hair on the kitchenette counter, stains on nearly every fabric, a gross fridge, and dried mystery stuff on the counters and floor. The carpet was coming up, and blown lights hadn't been replaced. The shower door was broken, and instead of fixing it they'd put up an extension rod and curtain that didn't keep water off the floor. The place needs a serious renovation and a very deep clean. I'm packing up to leave now.

We left after one night and are spending the rest of our time in Little Rock at another hotel. I'd avoid this one too. I'm a Hilton Diamond member and stay at a lot of their properties, and while this one looks nice from outside, it has a lot of deferred maintenance. Only one of its two elevators works, and both a staff member and a frequent guest said that's been true for a long time. There were holes in the wall and stains on the carpet, and the window shade in our room had lots of pinholes. It looks like the original shade from when the hotel was built ten years ago. This place needs investment and upkeep.

Breakfast ends at 9, which felt a bit early. The room was nice, comfortable, and clean. Staff weren't especially friendly, though I expected that from the culture in Little Rock. Still, it wasn't a bad place to stay.

After finding bedbugs on the king bed's comforter in our two-bedroom suite, I reported it and we were moved to another suite. That room had black mold around the shower area in the bathroom. The rooms need repairs, the hallway wallpaper is peeling, and there are drywall patches where they've made several repairs. The sheets and comforters also weren't as high-end as I'd expect at a Hilton.
