Robert, the manager, was great, and after a long, stressful day on the road it was a welcome place to get some sleep. The location right off the freeway is convenient, and the room had comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. The price was reasonable even during the peak holiday season, so it’s a solid spot for a night. Keep in mind you’ll have to drive to get downtown. The amenities were a mixed bag: our TV barely worked, the bathroom wasn’t in great shape, and the complimentary breakfast was mostly waffles and cereal, with very limited portions that weren’t filling. Be especially careful booking through a third-party site like Priceline. We reserved two queen beds but got a room with only one. The hotel staff said to take it up with Priceline, which could mean paying extra for what you originally booked. I’d call the hotel directly before arrival to confirm the reservation details.
A budget motel in a convenient spot is about the best thing I can say for this place. The bed felt like a wooden floor with a blanket on it, the most uncomfortable I’ve ever tried to sleep in, and I had the worst night of my 19 days on the road. The breakfast room was locked, though from the other reviews we probably didn’t miss much. The desk was closed when I needed a receipt. As we were loading up, a vehicle pulled into the lot and someone got out and headed toward the motel. By the time I left with the last bags, the desk was open but nobody was there. Maybe it’s not staffed, or the employees don’t show up on time. That’s not service. Now that I’m retired and travel regularly, Super 8 is off my list. I’d go somewhere else.
I can’t comment on the room or the stay because I left without staying. A sign said they were understaffed and to call the number. I couldn’t hear the woman on the phone. She tried calling me back, but when I still couldn’t hear her, she said if I couldn’t hear her, she couldn’t help me, and I might as well leave and find somewhere else. I honestly understand the situation, but she didn’t need to put it so rudely. There was no one there to help, so I had no choice but to go.
I’ll never come back, and I can’t recommend anyone stay here. The night clerk was rude and abrupt. My toilet wouldn’t flush completely, and the TV had no volume control. The bathroom, shower head, and floors were filthy. The Super Starter breakfast was just cold cereal or a waffle, and the coffee and shower water were only lukewarm. The heater and AC buttons were worn off, the shower curtain rod was falling off the wall, and the fridge was so loud I had to unplug it. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
The staff were nice. Breakfast was cereal or waffles you make yourself, with coffee or apple juice. The room was clean, but the mattress sagged and felt too soft, and really needs replacing. The pillows were squishy and gave no cushioning.
