Quality Inn and Suites Livonia

The jacuzzi suite was quiet and really relaxing, and I'd book it again. Everyone on the staff greeted me, and they were friendly and professional. I felt welcome the whole time.

We were lying on the bed when I spotted a bed bug crawling across it. Pulling back one corner of the sheets turned up another, dead one. I couldn't add the video here, but it showed one moving. The sheets, bed skirts, and bathroom were dirty too, though the bugs were what bothered me most. The heat took about 20 minutes to come on, but that was minor by comparison. The staff were friendly and offered another room, but I decided to go home instead, shower, and wash everything I'd brought. If I could find two bugs by checking one corner, I can only imagine there may have been more. Staff should check the sheets more often, and guests should inspect the room carefully, especially before a longer stay.

The hot tub never got close to the expected 104 degrees. We ran hot water for two hours to fill it, and it was barely bath-warm. After using it, we found black puddles on the floor. The white towels picked up black marks from those filthy floors, which looked like they hadn't been cleaned at all. The room was filthy to start with, and the replacement room they offered was just as bad. They offered to clean it, so we waited two hours while they worked on the dirt, grease, sticky messes, tables, chairs, and headboard, along with cobwebs and spiderwebs that still had spiders in them. We thought it was okay to stay, but then found more stuff on the floor. I have before-and-after evidence of the cleaning. I spent the night on the toilet and was so fed up I should have just gone home. Priceline said it couldn't help because we stayed, despite the condition of the room and the evidence. Choice Hotels offered 10,000 points, which meant nothing to me. This stay left me feeling like my life had been messed up. I'll never stay at this hotel again, and maybe not at Choice Hotels either.

Detroit highway traffic was rough for us. We were so relieved to get off the roads that we didn't look for another place, even though the room was in poor shape. I wiped down the surfaces myself, removed the stained bedding, and used our own. There were glass rings on the furniture, mold in the freezer, stains on the comforter, a sticky spill on the floor, and coffee dumped in the bathroom sink. I stopped checking because I kept finding more. The front desk saw my photos, but I wasn't offered any compensation. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you can avoid it.
