The Anniversary Inn Logan

We had to clean the bathroom ourselves and make the bed, only to sleep on sheets that clearly hadn’t been changed. The room was filthy when we arrived: there was still fecal matter in the toilet, dirt on the jetted tub, sink, and floor, old garbage on the floor, and used wine glasses with liquid left in them. Hair was all over the pillows and sheets. We told the hotel right away and asked for cleaning supplies, but nobody even tried to fix the room. There wasn’t a blanket or top sheet either, so we had to call for one and make the bed ourselves. The hot water tap on the bath wouldn’t shut off and dripped all night. No WiFi details were provided, the after-hours phone number was outdated, and the room information was inaccurate. The advertised water and cider weren’t there, and we didn’t get the cocoa we ordered with breakfast. The food arrived 15 minutes late and cold. This was supposed to be a birthday celebration, and I ended up in tears by the end of the night. After a month of trying to get Anniversary Inn to call us back, they offered 20% off a future weekday stay, not even a weekend. They said they’d call in a few days and never did. No accountability, just awful service. What’s the point of paying for a hotel if you have to clean it and make your own bed, then sleep on dirty sheets from a stranger? I’ll never return.

The bed was comfortable, the TV worked, and the area is a cozy, cute spot right in the center of town. The grounds are well kept, and it was a nice touch to walk into a room with the thermostat set, lights on, and music playing. There were still dirty areas, though. It looked clean at first, but the windows, blinds, and closet were filthy. The bathroom hot water hardly worked. Breakfast was decent the first morning, but the next day it came 10 minutes beyond their half-hour delivery window and was cold. The cocoa was barely warm too. We also got chicken nuggets and meatballs one night. The meatballs were overcooked, and half the nuggets were ice cold. We had an okay weekend, but I’d pick somewhere else next time.

The decor was pretty, and we had fun with the pool table. The food was good too. There were some nice extras in the room, but only a tiny fridge and no microwave at all. The furniture felt built for giants: the bed was so high I fell out trying to get up for the bathroom in the night, and the table and chairs left my feet dangling like a toddler’s. The bath was huge, though the jets didn’t work very well. The shower could feel like a lot if you’re claustrophobic, and it’s just a regular showerhead on a plain wall. I also wish we’d known beforehand what we could order, like a couples massage or room service. It was a fun stay, but it could’ve been much better, and the furniture could stand to be a little less oversized.

We’ve stayed at the Anniversary Inn a few times, but this visit was a letdown. The room decor was charming, though the suite needed a proper clean. There was dust everywhere, dirty rugs, and mildew in the bathtub. The internet didn’t work during our stay, and when we tried calling the front desk before 9:00 PM about a treat, nobody answered. We like the idea of this inn, but they need to do better with upkeep and communication.
