Hotel Salina Long Beach

The room was dirty, but it was cheap, so I expected that and wasn’t upset. What bothered me was losing my $20 deposit. I’d been told not to smoke in the room, so I smoked outside, at least 60 feet away. At checkout, they said I’d carried the smell back inside and kept my deposit. I feel like I was cheated and that they weren’t honest with me. I wouldn’t stay here again.

For $135, we expected more, based on the area and the photos. The room was bare bones, with thin sheets and just one blanket. There were brown stains on the headboard, the faucet barely ran, and the TV didn’t work at first. The woman came to help, but kept leaving the door open at night while our baby was in the room. No extra towels or soap, and they didn’t make the beds or provide room service. Buyer beware.

My wife and I had a great time in LA, and finding this place made the trip even better. The staff helped us with every little thing and were incredibly kind. The rooms were clean, the parking lot felt safe, and check-in and checkout were easy.

Nice place for the area, especially for the price, and it was quiet. The staff were polite, though the cultural barrier made a few simple interactions awkward and frustrating. I didn’t like that the daily rate seemed to change depending on who was working at the window. The rooms are outdated, but roach- and bug-free. They were about as clean as you could expect with old furnishings, though some aged grime just wouldn’t wash off.
