WorldMark Long Beach

We’d stay here again. The room was spacious and beautiful, with a living area, kitchen, dining table, Murphy bed, washer and dryer, king bed, and a roomy bathroom with good counter space. It was quiet, and we hardly heard anyone next door. The employees were friendly and helpful, and the lobby has a small spot to buy forgotten toiletries or snacks. The heated pool and warm, clean hot tub were nice. There’s a door out back and a short walk to the beach, which we appreciated.

We were on the fourth floor with a sea view and enjoyed eating on the deck. The hotel lends out clam guns, with a washing station out front and a clam cleaning station near the pool. We also liked the heated outdoor pool and hot tubs. The location worked well for us. We could walk to restaurants and get to the beach without driving. One of us is very allergic to perfumes, so we called ahead to ask for a room with no scent. The hotel offered to remove the bulk shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and the room was indeed fragrance free. We were very happy about that.

The location and rooms were great, but the rooms felt old, uncomfortable, badly decorated, and poorly stocked. For what we paid, a beautiful Airbnb would have been better in every way, and we wouldn’t have had to pay for Wi-Fi. The tap water smelled really bad. There was only one filtered water station and ice maker for the whole property, and it often ran out of ice. Staff ranged from mediocre, with no effort to go above and beyond, to downright horrible. Michael and Shantell in particular are why we’ll never stay at a Worldmark again. They need serious hospitality and customer service training. Two stars is honestly generous.

The rooms and location are great, and everyone was friendly. The place was super clean, too. Only one car is allowed per room. The salespeople are typical salespeople, so just say no. Their incomplete answers are dishonest. We requested kitchen items they said were available on request, but still haven’t seen them.
