Hudson Manor Inn & Suites

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the place felt sketchy, dirty, and run down. There was used furniture in the parking lot, paint peeling off the walls, wires hanging from the ceiling, and the bathroom window wouldn't close. The refrigerator sounded like an eight-cylinder engine. The bathroom door was locked and had to be picked open.

We only stayed because it was late and everything else was booked. I try to support family businesses, but needing a cash deposit on top of the credit card I’d already paid with didn’t feel like a good sign. The room was dirty, with filthy carpet and hair on the bathroom wall. We slept in our sleeping bags instead of using the linens, and saw fleas in the bedding the next morning. At checkout they had to inspect the room, another sign this wasn't a good place to stay. We didn't notice anything unusual about the other guests, though we arrived late and left at the first chance in the morning. Camping would have been cleaner. The owners should renovate and clean properly between guests.

The bathroom is a mess. Its door won't shut or lock, and there's only a very small shower, no bath. The showerhead sprays everywhere. The drain in the middle of the small shower is bent up and sticks way up, enough to cut your foot when you move.

I was surprised by the cute rooms, especially the exposed ceiling beams and accent wall. I stayed a week, and everything was really nice. My room was very clean and tidy, and management was friendly and accommodating. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!
