Travelers Inn by OYO Longview Kelso

The location was the only good thing about this hotel. My wife, our two kids, and I ended up here because it was the only place in Longview available that weekend for less than three hundred dollars a night. After driving across the state, we arrived around nine p.m. with two cranky kids. The photos made it look like a clean budget motel, but the room was a nightmare. It smelled like human urine and mold, there were no towels, the outlets had no covers, and the floor was so dirty that walking barefoot turned our feet black. We either had to drive forty-five minutes back to Vancouver or put up with it for the night, so we stayed. First thing the next morning, I told the front desk about everything and said we were checking out immediately. They had no other room for us and said we’d have to wait for the owner to decide whether we could get a refund. Booking.com said they couldn’t help because I’d paid at the hotel. I contacted OYO, which I consider an absolute scam company, and they refused to refund me. I plan to call the Longview health department and post a negative review on every hotel site listing this as a place to rent. I wouldn’t put a homeless person here, let alone my wife and kids.

The Mexican restaurant next door has delicious food, and the front desk staff were cheerful and helpful. I think there’s new management. I also felt safe, with none of the people lurking around that I’ve seen at other motels nearby. It’s conveniently located. It’s not the Hilton, but it worked for me.

The room was clean and didn’t smell of cigarettes, and the man running the place was friendly and helpful. I liked it enough to switch from Motel 6, where I usually stay.

I checked in Thursday after paying online, then paid at the office on Friday through the 6th. On Saturday morning, I was told I owed more because of their mistake. Life circumstances left me paying it, though I would’ve left if I’d had another option. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here. To top it off, I got a cold shower.
